Nike Data Literacy

 Let’s Talk Data at Nike

script development | video production

Data fluency is rapidly becoming a vital component in a company’s operational success. At Nike, that importance is further compounded by its global presence and market leadership. By working closely with Nike stakeholders, we produced 18 episodic videos to illustrate the potential, utility, and risks of data.

Big data for an even bigger audience.

The brief was relatively straightforward: To help Nike employees in Greater China understand the role of data within the company. The real challenge was planning the massive curriculum of data-related content, and elaborating it in a way that is digestible to an audience with a varying range of data knowledge.

50+ pages of script, 400+ charts and illustrations, 18 videos spanning over 90 minutes.

We started with organizing all our topics into categories and nailing down the flow by chapters, starting with a call-to-action by different market leaders and ending the journey with cautionary tales on data protection and privacy.

Each episode was built from the ground up, with an emphasis on approachability — packaged in simple language, engaging animation, and relevant case studies to showcase the dynamic of data in Nike and its consumers’ day-to-day lives.

The end result was something that was easy to follow, engaging, and, most important of all, educational.
